Google on Tuesday paid tribute to German, sculptor, painter, designer, and choreographer Oskar Schlemmer on his 130th birth anniversary. 

The search giant created a doodle, which shows a bulbous mechanical figure standing in a ballet pose wearing metallic masks. 

Bulbous mechanical creatures wearing metallic masks are not the usual image that comes to mind when one thinks of ballet. But that’s precisely what Oskar Schlemmer used to stage his 'Triadisches Ballett' or ‘Triadic Bal .. 
a groundbreaking production that premiered in Stuttgart, Schlemmer is well-known for his work Triadic Ballet where the performers were transformed into geometrical figurines. 

He was also famous for his fascination for the divine and architectural aspect of the human body. He captured each and every possible movement into his complex art form and labeled every performance as "artistic metaphysical mathematics", which according to him was the purest form of physical aesthetics. 

Schlemmer also experimented with painting, sculpture, but it was his creative theater designs that are most remembered, influencing future artists like David Bowie. the human figure in space, its moving and stationary functions, sitting, lying, walking, standing” as being “as simple as they are universally valid.

Schlemmer was the youngest of six children who attended art school before becoming a director of stage research and production. 

The polymath died on April 13, 1943, when Germany was under Hitler's rule.

Infosys jumps 4.4% as stock adjusts for bonus issue, rupee hits record low

The board of directors approved Infosys' bonus issue on July 13 and shareholders' approval came in on August 22, 2018.

Infosys share price rallied 4.4 percent intraday to hit a record high of Rs 748.50 Tuesday on buying demand from investors after the stock adjusted for bonus issue.

The country's second largest IT services provider announced the issue of bonus shares in the ratio of one equity share for every equity share held and a stock dividend of one American Depositary Share (ADS) for every ADS held, as on a record date.

The record date for the same is fixed as September 5, 2018.

The board of directors approved bonus issue on July 13 and shareholders' approval came in on August 22, 2018.

After the adjustment, the stock price halved from its previous closing value of Rs 1,434.25.

Earlier it adjusted for bonus issue in the ratio of one equity share for every share on June 15, 2015, December 2, 2014 and July 13, 2006. It also adjusted for bonus issue in the ratio of 3 shares for every share held on July 1, 2004.

At 12:57 hours IST, the share price was quoting at Rs 738.30, up Rs 21.17, or 2.95 percent on the NSE.

Meanwhile, the weakening rupee also boosted sentiment. In fact, it has been supporting not only to Infosys but also other technology stocks which are exporting their services to America.

The Indian rupee hit historic low of 71.37 against the US dollar today, depreciating more than 11.5 percent year-to-date.

IndiGo offers domestic tickets for as low as Rs 999, international for Rs 3,199

A domestic one-way ticket from Delhi to Jaipur can be booked for Rs 999. A one-way international flight ticket from Kolkata to Dhaka can be booked for Rs 3,199.

Budget carrier IndiGo is offering domestic air tickets for as low as Rs 999 and international ones for Rs 3,199. The airline, which is offering all-inclusive discounted flight tickets, has already kicked off its four-day sale beginning today.

A domestic one-way ticket from Delhi to Jaipur can be booked for Rs 999. A one-way international flight ticket from Kolkata to Dhaka can be booked for Rs 3,199.

Customers are required to book tickets before September 6 for the travel period between September 18 and March 30 next year. Around one million seats are up for grabs under IndiGo's latest sale. It is also the second such sale in as many months when IndiGo has offered discounts on about a million seats.

"We are delighted to announce this four-day festive sale across our network, effective from September 3 till September 6, 2018. We are sure customers will quickly grab the seats we have available, starting at fares as low as Rs 999," IndiGo's chief commercial officer William Boulter said.

While customers can book domestic flights starting as low as Rs 999, international flights can be booked at Rs 3,199. Customers can also opt for SuperCash facility that will offer 20% discount (Rs 600) if the payment is made through MobiKwik wallet on the IndiGo website or mobile app.

These discounts will be kicked in only if bookings are made 15 days prior to the date of flight departure and the date of travel should be no later than March 30 next year.

The Gurugram-headquartered airline had recorded a dip in net profit of 96.6 per cent to Rs 27.8 crore in the June quarter. The airline had attributed this fall in profit to adverse impact of foreign exchange and high fuel prices.
