A newly discovered bug in Apple's FaceTime software lets Apple users listen in on the people they are calling, and even see through their front-facing camera, without them picking-up the call.
The bug, flagged by 9to5Mac on Monday, was quickly recreated by people across social media. CNN Business confirmed the bug multiple times in its own tests.
Apple said in a statement Monday night that it has identified a fix for the problem and will release it in a software update later this week. In the meantime, Apple's website indicates Group FaceTime is unavailable, and the company confirmed it has started disabling the Group FaceTime feature for all users.
The bug works on iPhones and iPads running iOS 12.1, and Apple PCs running macOS Mojave, which have the recently added Group FaceTime feature.
It is activated when you call someone via FaceTime, swipe up to add another person to the call, and add your own phone number. The person who initiated the call is then able to hear the live audio on the other person's phone, even though the recipient has not accepted the call. And their screen gives no indication that their conversation is being transmitted. In some cases, the bug can also show live video of the other person if they press a volume button to dismiss the call.
CNN senior editor Brian Ries successfully used it on friends, family members and a colleague, and in one instance was even able to see video of the people he was calling.
To avoid falling victim to the bug, disable FaceTime on all your devices until Apple's software updates have been released.
On an iPhone or iPad, go to Settings -> FaceTime, and toggle off the green button at the top of the screen. To turn it off on a Mac, open the FaceTime app and go to FaceTime on top of the screen, then select "Turn FaceTime Off."

Samsung Galaxy M10 vs M20 The flagship phones: Here's how the two Galaxy M phones differ from each other

The newly launched Galaxy M10 and M20 offer a similar design language with Infinity-V displays, but they differ in hardware. Here's what's similar and different between the two phones.

Samsung on Monday announced a brand new affordable series in India as the company attempts to win back the market from the hands of Xiaomi, Nokia and others. The Galaxy M series has been launched with an aim to attract millenials by offering the Galaxy M10 and M20with attractive new Infinity-V displays, long-lasting battery and ultra wide-angle camera.
The Galaxy M10 and M20 (Review) are similar in design, but they offer a few differences in specs as the former falls in the sub-Rs 10,000 segment, while the latter falls in the sub-Rs 15,000 price bracket. We take a look at what sets the two phones apart to help you understand which of the two new Galaxy M phones makes the most sense for you.
-- Talking about the price first, the Galaxy M10 is the more affordable of the two phones with a price tag starting at Rs 7,990 and going up to Rs 8,990. The M10 comes in two variants - 2GB + 16GB and 3GB + 32GB. The Galaxy M20, on the other hand, starts at Rs 10,990 and goes up to Rs 12,990. It also comes in two variants - 3GB + 32GB and 4GB + 64GB. Both the phones support storage expandability up to 512GB via a microsSD card.
-- The Galaxy M10 and M20 are the first Samsung phones to rock the new Infinity-V displays. This means both the phones offer waterdrop notches on the display, allowing for fewer bezels all around and a large screen-to-body ratio. From the front, both the phones look identical, but there is a difference in resolution. The Galaxy M10 offers a 720p HD+ display, while the M20 offers a 1080p FHD+ display. Both the phones support Widevine L1, so you will be able to stream videos on popular platforms in true HD, although the M20 will offer better clarity and sharpness.
-- The two new Galaxy M phones also share the same dual camera setups. They both get a 13MP primary sensor with f/1.9 aperture and a 5MP secondary camera with f/2.2 aperture. The front camera, however, is different as the M10 gets a 5MP selfie shooter while the M20 gets an 8MP sensor.
The Galaxy M20 is also the only phone (and the first-ever Samsung phone) to house a large 5,000mAh battery. Samsung guarantees a two-day battery life on this phones, and our review reaffirms this promise. The Galaxy M10 comes with a smaller 3,400mAh battery, which should be decent enough for an entry-level smartphone. The M20 is also the only one among the two to support up to 15W fast charging.
-- The Galaxy M20 gets a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor in addition to face unlock. The Galaxy M10 offers no physical fingerprint sensor, just the face unlock feature for biometric, which may not work well in low-light.
-- The Galaxy M10 and M20 come with different processors as well. The M10 is powered by a 1.6GHz octa-core Exynos 7870 chipset which is based on a 14nm process and offers eight ARM Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.6GHz. The M20 gets the newly announced Exynos 7904 chipset which is also based on a 14nm process. The chipset is equipped with two Cortex-A73 cores that run at 1.8GHz, and six Cortex-A53 cores that run at 1.6GHz.
-- When it comes to the processor and memory, it's pretty evident that the Galaxy M20 is the one to go for if you are looking to play a lot of games or multitask on a smartphone. The 4GB variant of the M20 will handle this better than the Galaxy M10. The M10 is for light phone users who aren't looking to stress the device, but want a good-looking phone with a waterdrop display.
-- Both the Galaxy M10 and M20 ship with Android 8.1 Oreo with a new Experience UI 9.5, which offers a cleaner, smoother UI. Samsung inadvertently revealed that the two phones will receive Android Pie later this year in August.

Fortnite: Loot boxes to become see-through so you can see their contents

      Fortnite supply llama

The creators of Fortnite have said they are changing some loot boxes so you will be able to see what's inside before buying them.
Lots of games let players buy these boxes, which contain random items and customise options, but typically you don't know what you're going to get.
In Fortnite, the loot llamas - available to buy in the Save the World game mode - can be bought using the game's special money called V-Bucks. At the moment, a player can buy 1,000 V-bucks for £7.99.
But Epic Games, which makes Fortnite, has been criticised because some people think that this is a form of gambling.
By showing players what it inside the boxes, this may help to address this problem.
The company have said that in the next update to the game, "any llama available in the V-bucks store will show its contents without requiring a purchase". Similar item-filled llamas earned solely through gameplay will still hold random items.
      Fortnite store.
This means that the contents of any free loot llamas will still be a surprise. It also won't affect the llamas found in the Battle Royale mode, as these aren't loot boxes and players don't keep their contents after the game finishes.
Last year, Belgium took a stand against this and banned loot boxes in video games.
